Digital signature software is widely used across industries for signing documents like sales orders, vendor agreements, client onboarding forms, real estate rental agreements, and many more. These electronic signature solutions eliminate the manual handling of paper documents, accelerating the agreement process and improving customer interactions. These platforms are compatible with multiple devices, allowing parties to sign forms anywhere, speeding up sales, facilitating remote transactions, and giving brands a competitive advantage.
Online signatures improve the user experience by providing cheaper customer acquisition costs and improved conversion rates. An all-encompassing answer to these challenges is provided by the ERP software Odoo Sales module, which guarantees expert online generation and validation. Since they are an essential component of sales quotes, orders, and agreements, online signatures are vital for online transactions and enterprises operating in the global marketplace. The quotation can be immediately signed by the customer to indicate their acceptance of the terms stated in it. The seller is able to move on with the sale or service functions thanks to this digital signature. In the global economy, internet business and transactions are quite important.
The Odoo 17 Inventory module's “Settings” menu offers a “Signature” option, which can be activated under the “Shipping” tab to confirm delivery by requiring a customer's signature upon receiving the product. This signature feature will help you collect customers' signatures after they receive the item they purchased after the delivery order completion. In this manner, you may effectively verify the product delivery.
Then, we can create a delivery order from the inventory module itself. So, go to the “Deliveries” option from the “Operations” menu.
You can see the dashboard of all the deliveries created inside the “Deliveries” dashboard, then create a new delivery using the “New” button.
Inside the displayed form, provide the Delivery Address. The Operation Type, Source Location, Scheduled Date, and Source Document fields will be automatically filled out. Add the products inside the “Operations” tab. Save the data after completing the form fields, then click the "Confirm" button to verify the order. Confirming the delivery order will show some buttons such as Mark as Todo, Validate, Sign, Print Labels, and Cancel.
By using the "Mark as Todo" option, you may verify that the order has been completed or validated. After validating the order, you can sign the delivery order by clicking on the “Sign” button and this will open a pop-up window, where, you can receive the signature from the customers. The “Draw” button can be used to draw the signatures as shown below.
After drawing the signature, click the button to adopt the drawn signature or cancel the signature and retry.
The “Auto” button can be used to create automatic signatures based on the customer name that you have provided in the delivery order form, as shown below.
The “Load” button can be used to download and attach the signature document that you have saved in your device storage. Here, I am adopting an automatic signature and coming back to the order configuration page.
You can use the “Action” menu to “Print” the delivery slips with the customer signature, Picking Operations, Packages, and Return Slips as a downloadable document.
For example, I am printing a “Delivery Slip” from the “Print” button of the action menu. Choosing this option will download the PDF file into the device storage, and we can open the document, where we can see the delivery slip with the recently added user signature, as shown below.
You can save the documents for future requirements and continue with the inventory order.
