The work order has a great role in Odoo manufacturing module. Custom workflows are configured using the work order operations. In the Odoo v10 manufacturing, we can activate the work order operation by just selecting a checkbox in the MRP settings.
By navigating to Manufacturing -> Configuration -> Settings, then under the “Manufacturing Order” there is section “Routings & Planning”; from here enable the option “Manage production by work orders”.

But in the version 11, when someone looking to activate the work order operation by navigating the above-described path may get wondered on seeing this label.
The settings say that the Work orders will be available only in the enterprise edition. On clicking the button they will ask for an upgrade to the Odoo enterprise. So, did they remove work order from the community edition? Is this feature only available in the Enterprise edition?
Many strange questions will come to users mind. The Answer is no, the work order is still available in the community edition. Cheers to Odoo :)
So how to activate the work order operations in Odoo v11?
First of all activate the Developer mode, for activating the developer mode go to
Settings -> Option Activate the developer mode option on the bottom right of the screen.
After activating the developer mode, navigate to Settings -> Users & Companies -> Users, then open the users from the view and check ‘Manage Work Order Operation’ option.
Tick the “Manage Work Order Operations” in the technical settings and click the save button. Just reload the view and go to the manufacturing section, now you can see the menu for the work orders. Enjoy the feature as before.
