1 Web Page Designing
The Odoo Website module is a great tool for building a website for your company. You can use the platform to create and design the pages of the website based on the demands. Users may access the Homepage by selecting the Site menu in the Odoo 18 Website module.
A single mouse click on the menu will bring up your website's Home page window. You can browse through a variety of menus and website design options here. You may administrate your website, make new pages, and manage content directly from this page.
As can be seen below, the user is assisted in creating a new page by the "New" option that shows in the upper right corner.
The "New Page" option allows you to build a page, blog post, event, forum, job opportunity, products, courses, and a live chat widget.
A new page window will pop up when the user selects the "Create New Page" option, allowing them to select the page template.
The page title is then displayed in a field for them to enter and verify. The new page is created after the user validates the entry, and it provides a number of website builders for customization.
There are several different types of block tools available in Odoo 18. You can access them by selecting the "Edit" option on any page of the website. Furthermore, consumers can access this tool from any website front-end page. Inner content blocks, dynamic content blocks, feature blocks, and structural blocks are the four general categories into which the numerous block tools found in Odoo can be divided.
While dragging and dropping the block, the user can modify it using the Customize and Theme options.
Simply dragging and dropping a new snippet onto the screen will add it. Depending on how the page is utilized, one of the snippets may also be changed if it is selected. Consequently, the customization function enhances the screen's visual appeal and usage.
For example, pick the fragment called Image-Text. You can then change both the text and the images. Choose the CUSTOMIZE option from the menu on the right side of the screen to accomplish this.
The Layout option allows the user to alter the image's arrangement. With the right choices, it's simple to adjust vertical alignment, backdrop, content width, height, and visibility. In the next section, the user can change the background color. The border, shadow, visibility, rounded edges, and the ability to add text and image animations come next.
If the animation is chosen, more parameters can be adjusted, including the effect, direction, trigger, duration length, and others.
This modified element can then be used in the Inline Text box to adjust the text orientation and those changes. Here, a text highlighter is also an option.
If the user chooses image customization, they can change the image, add new tooltips and descriptions, and modify the format, quality, size, transform, filter, and filter. Then, another option to alter the image's shape appears.
The user will get a list of several shapes, such as diamond, square, and rectangle when they click on the shapes option. After that, the user only needs to select one.
Then the Page can be Published using the button added at the top of the screen.
Next, select the Page from the Site menu. Users can view the produced page inside the list.
On selecting a particular website page, you will be directed to the website page, where, you have the customization options, such as categories and inner contents, as in the image below.
The options uner the categories include, intro, column, content, image, people, text, contact and forms, social, products, events, and blogs, respectively, which can be added to the pre existing website page accordingly. The intro can be added from the given list.
The column option helps you to add columns.
The contents option helps you with different contents.
Images option provides lots of related images, which can be used accordingly.
On selecting the people option, you have the pop-up, as in the image below.
Next option is text, which provides templates, as in the image below.
Next is contact and form, as in the screenshot below.
Now, you have the social option, which provides different templates.
Then, there is the product option, which shows the template, as in the image below.
Then, comes the Events template.
Finally, the blogs provide the template, as in the image below.
These are the options under categories. Below that, you have the inner contents option, which include many options which allow you to add elements such as videos, images, and social media buttons, into pre-existing blocks.
The Inner content features include a button, image, video, separator, accordion, alert, rating, card, share, social media, Facebook, search, newsletter, discussion group, text highlighter, chart, progress bar, badge, CTA badge, blockquote, form, countdown, embed code, map, donation button, and add to cart button respectively. The necessary one can be inserted accordingly.
Below is the screenshot of website page with a video, image as well as button, which can be dragged from the inner contents.
Now, you can also add all other options, like rating, and alert, as in the screenshot below, using the inner content option.
Under the below screenshot, you can see the newsletter, badge, chart, facebook, location, and more inner contents added.
Similarly, you can see many other options like, add to cart, CTA Badge, countdown, donation button, text highlighter, and many more.
In this manner, you can drag and drop the required inner content to the website accordingly.
Blogs
Now let's go back to the website and, as shown below, choose the Blog option from the New menu on the right side of the window.
Once the Blog Posts option has been selected, a popup will appear requesting the user to select the created blog name, as shown below.
We are given the option to add content that is required for the blog after selecting the one we have already created. Furthermore, as shown below, the user can add blocks, change the theme, and further alter the website and content.
The capabilities of Odoo 18 allow users to customize blog posts and their content. For instance, they have the option to adjust the Layout to Title Above Cover and Title Inside Cover. Title Above Cover: The blog title appears above the cover, as may be seen here.
Additionally, when the layout is set to Title Inside Cover, the blog topic will be positioned inside as shown above.
The user also has the option to activate the SideBar, which, as can be seen above, adds more information to the blog's side, including the ability to share content and tags used in posts, among many other things. Additionally, the user has the option to expand the readability field, which enhances the blog's content and increases user visibility.
If the user needs it, the blog creation tool can be accessed through the Site menu of the website module. Writing and publishing different blog entries on the website is made easier for the user by this function.
Choosing the Blog Post option, as shown above, will bring up a box where one can create blogs.
You can start a new blog by selecting the New option, where you can give the blog a name, link it to a website, and choose which blog was started here. Only the website you specify in the Website field will have the blog post published there.
Let's create a new blog and call it New Blog, as can be seen below.
Select the website, then go to Contents, where you can see the Blog post.
Events
A single, comprehensive platform for organizing events of any scale. Odoo 18 Events handles all facets of an event planner's job, including ticket sales, event planning, and visibility and promotion.
The user can create a new event by selecting the +New button. They can choose events from the window that opens.
That displays options such as the Event Name, Event Venue, and Event Start and End dates as seen below
The 'Events' option is located under the Site tab in the Content part of the website module, as may be seen below.
Below is a representation of the Event Pages list view. Here you will find all of the default event pages and their information: Event, Website URL, Attendees to Expect, Start Date, Company, SEO optimized, Is Published, Website, and Stages. By choosing the Kanban view menu icon, you can also switch from the list view to the Kanban view.
The user can also create a new event from the back end by clicking the New button. As can be seen below, pressing the button will bring up a window with the event's name, venue, start and end dates, and other details.
Let's save the event that we have made.
You will be directed to a customizable homepage that shows the event in its unpublished state once it has been saved. The user can modify it in accordance with the features provided, such as Customized Sub Menu, as well as enabling the Sponsor field as seen below.
Here, the sub-menu helps you to hide the complete result of the event hockey tournament. On activating the option, you could not view further details regarding the event. The cover position of the image of the event can be set on the top, inside content, or hidden accordingly. The option display the sponsors of the events which can serve as a valuable incentive to encourage partners and businesses to participate in the event.
Forum
You may easily create forum posts on the Odoo 18 Website module. To do so, navigate to the +New menu, and choose Forum as displayed below.
The page will be, as in the below image.
The name of the Forum can be mentioned in the Forum Name field. You can set the Mode of the forum as Question Mode or Discussion Mode. In Question Mode, the customers are allowed to submit only one answer whereas in the Discussion mode, multiple answers are allowed. Specify the Website on which you want to publish this forum in the given field. Add a suitable image of the Forum in order to make it more attractive on your website. The Privacy of the Forum can be set as Public, Signed in, or Some Users. In order to get the website view of the forum, you can click on the Go To Website button. Now, we will get three tabs in the Forum creation window to complete such as Options, Karma Points, and Karma Related Rights. In the Options tab, you will get the Order and Visibility field to define the Default Sort and Privacy. You can set the Default Sort as Newest, Last Updated, Most Voted, Relevance, or Answered. Depending on the option you selected, Odoo will sort the posts included in this forum on the website. Additionally, add a description regarding the forum in the given field so that the customer will get a clear idea about the purpose of this forum.
In Odoo, you can provide certain points to your customers or website visitors by engaging in various kinds of activities which are described in the Karma Gains tab.
These Karma Points will help a participant to win certain Karma Related Rights. The points required to win such Rights can be specified in the corresponding tab as marked in the screenshot below.
After completing all the above-discussed procedures, you can now click on the Save button to save the new forum.This is how we create new forums for websites with the help of the Odoo Website module.
The forum feature of Odoo will act as a dialogue platform where users can ask questions and receive replies. If you create a discussion subject or a question forum on your website, people who share your thoughts can get together to have a conversation.
Under the Site menu, you have the option of forum post, as in the screenshot below.
Here, you have the title of the forum post, website URL, Forum, status, SEO optimized, and website, respectively.
On selecting a particular forum post, you will be directed to the website page, as in the image below.
Here, using the edit icon, you can make the customization. All of the forums that you have described will be shown on the forum's webpage so that visitors may select and participate. By choosing the Comment option, you will also have the opportunity to express your appreciation for a question or response that has been submitted. Similar to the Answering section, a block will be used to represent you here as well. You have the option to either post a comment or discard the operations. Additionally, there will be a Share option that will enable you to share the forum using social media sites that are connected to the Odoo platform or by sending an email invitation to the forum.
Some version settings will be very beneficial to your operations if you are the one who created the relevant form or forum, posting, or if you have the authority to make changes. You can edit both the forum and forum posts using the Edit option. Depending on your needs, you can also flag, delete, or close the forum.
You can also make use of the customization for the inline text using the option, as in the screenshot below.a
Job Position
To create a new job position, you can go for the New icon, where you have the option of job position, as in the image below.
On selecting the option, you will get the page, as in the image below, where you can make necessary editing and customization using the options provided on the right part of the window.
Under the Site menu, you have the option of Jobs, which will provide all the details regarding the job, such as job position, website URL, department, target application count, SEO optimized, Is published, and website, respectively, as in the screenshot below.
Product
Now, next to the job position, you have the product icon, as in the screenshot below.
On selecting the option, you have the pop-up window, as in the image below.
Here, you can add the product name, barcode of the product, track inventory option, sales price of the product, sales team, website category, and POS category, respectively, provided the dependent modules are installed. After providing all the details, you can save the newly created product, which can be viewed on website page, and there you can make all the necessary customization using the edit icon.
You can also view all those created products under the contents menu, as in the image below.
Course
The next content available under the website module is Course, as in the image below.
On selecting the option, you have the pop-up, as in the image below.
Here, you can add the course title, tags, a layout to choose, the description on the course, allow rating option to activate, and enroll policy option as well. Finally, you can save those details.
After saving those details, you will be directed to the website page, as in the image below.
Those courses can also be viewed from the site menu, as in the image below.
Here you can have the details regarding the courses, such as name, website URL, responsible person, course type, show course to, is published, SEO optimized, and website, respectively.
LiveChat Widget
The next option that can be added to the website along with the job position is the Live Chat Widget, as shown below.
when we choose that option a window appears that asks to mention the Channel name as shown below.
Once the channel is created it will redirect to a page that shows the channel name along with the ratings which can be customized with the features included in it as shown below.
Menu Editor
The Odoo 18 Website module's Site menu contains the Menu Editor option, as seen in the screenshot below.
With this feature, you may easily modify the menu and page layouts on your website. The change menu option allows you to add, amend, and remove pages from your website. As can be seen in the screenshot above, the pop-up window will display data from every page of the current website. Edit, Delete, Add, and Mega menu item options are among the many icons and options that are available. More precisely, the system manages the "Edit Menu Item" and the "Delete Menu Item" on each web page, as shown in the screenshot below.
To modify an existing menu item, select Update Menu Item; to remove a specific menu item, pick Delete Menu Item. Additionally, as shown below, the Add Menu Item and Add Mega Menu Item options are located in the popup window that displays in the window's lower-left corner.
Selecting Add Menu Item will bring up the "Add a Menu Item" pop-up window, which is shown below.
You can insert the new menu label's name and email address or URL in this pop-up. Click OK once all the required information has been entered, or choose Cancel if you need to remove your submission.
Likewise, you can choose to "Add Mega Menu Item," which would add a Mega Menu.
In this way, menus and mega menus may be created in Odoo 18. Once it has been created, let's save it and use the Edit option to change the Mega menu as seen below.
Multi-menu, Image menu, Odoo menu, Little icon, Big Icons Subtitles, Image Subtitles, Logos, Thumbnail, and Cards are some of the templates sets we provide for the mega menu.
Modify the names of the menu items to suit your requirements. Next to it will be the template you selected, which lets you adjust the number of columns, select the link that will direct them to the relevant page, and more.
Next to the template option, you have options, such as background, border, round corner, shadow, color, offset, blur, and so on. You can also determine the size and ecommerce category. You can customize your mega menu in multiple ways. You can customize fthe ollowing things of a mega menu: Mega Menu image, Mega Menu Background with color or image, Mega Menu Footer, Category & Sub Category Colors, and Set numerous columns for your various Mega Menus.
This Page
The Site menu of the website module provides tools for managing the created webpage, such as the HTML/CSS Editor, Page Properties, Link Tracker, and Optimize SEO features under the "This Page" area.
Page Properties
The Page Properties box displays the pertinent information about web pages, such as the Page Title, this title is used in the menu and the page’s URL. Page URL, and enabling choices like "Is Indexed, In Menu, Is Homepage, Indexed, Published, Publishing Date, and Visibility," as a preview of how the website pages will be configured.
● In Menu: Disable if you don’t want the page to appear in the menu;
● Use as Homepage: Enable if you want the page to be the homepage of your website;
● Indexed: Disable if you don’t want the page to be shown in search engine results;
● Published: Enable to publish the page;
● Publishing Date: To publish the page at a specific moment, select the date, click the clock icon to set the time, and then click the green check mark to validate your selection.
● Visibility: Select who can access the page:
○ All
○ Signed In
○ Restricted Group: Select the user access group.
Additionally, the window will display the options to duplicate and delete the same data.
A page's visibility options, which provide users with many ways to visit the website, include All Users, Signed In, Restricted Groups, and With Password.
Optimize SEO
Search engine optimization (SEO) is a set of suggested methods used to improve the positioning of your website so that search engines like Google will find it more relevant. In a nutshell, good SEO helps you get more visitors.
SEO is essential to the functioning of any website because it helps guarantee that a website is visible to search engines and its target audience. This leads to increased website traffic, the generation of leads, and eventually, increased sales. Improved user experience and higher conversion rates are two benefits of using SEO to make a website easier to explore. Additionally, SEO helps you gain the trust and credibility of potential clients, which can lead to increased sales.
To fortify and enhance your website, the Odoo Website module provides excellent SEO optimization choices. The module's web pages include a separate menu for managing their SEO. The Optimize SEO option may be found in the Site menu of the website module, as seen below.
The webpage's title can be entered here, and it will appear in the Preview area. In the relevant field, you can also include a description of the webpage. This explanation will also appear in the preview on the right side of the window. Adding keywords is another way to boost traffic. Every web page should have specific metadata tags for the title and description. Search engines use these pieces of material to promote your website. They are created automatically depending on the page's title and content, but you can alter them. Search engines may disregard you if they are not relevant to the page's content.
You are free to enter as many keywords as you like. You can enter the term's language in the designated field in addition to the keyword itself. Odoo has a keyword tool to assist you in creating engaging content and driving more visitors. You want to steer those kinds of questions towards your website. You can see what Google searches are related to each term and how it is used in the text (H1, H2, page title, page description, and content). It is preferable to use as many keywords as possible. Additionally, you have the option to choose an image that will show up during a webpage search. You can click to save the data once you've entered it all.
Link Tracker
You can no longer rely on speculative or insufficient reports thanks to Odoo 18 Link Tracker. Sort the marketing channels that are profitable and those that are not.
One helpful tool for tracking and improving the functionality of links on your website is the Link Tracker option in the Odoo 18 Website module. It gives you the ability to manage your website's link structure, monitor link views and clicks, and assess link performance. Additionally, it offers thorough analytics and link performance statistics. You can quickly redirect, link targets, and link sources using the link tracker. Additionally, you can monitor and analyze link clicks from several devices and sources, as well as establish targeted redirects to take instant action.
The Link Tracker option is located in the Site menu of the website module.
Additionally, when we open it, a popup will show up that lets the user enter the URL to start a new link tracking activity. After that, you can specify the web page's source, campaign, and operating medium. Click the Get tracked link button to retrieve tracked links. Moreover, any link that you are tracking may be seen in the Your monitored links menu. Additionally, filters are available for the tracked connections under the tracked links option. As a result, the HTML / CSS menu allows you to change the look of the website. You can change the HTML and CSS of your website by adding custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code, as shown below.
