The survey creation process in Odoo 18 is simplified with an accessible New icon. Odoo offers various survey types for various purposes, including standard feedback forms, live sessions for e-learning or webinars, assessments for certification exams or skill assessments, and custom surveys for unique or tailored survey needs.
In setting up a new survey, you’ll enter core information such as survey name, Responsible person, Restricted to users list, and also an optional image. A survey form is versatile for administering tests and collecting evaluation data. Users can choose the survey type from the options at the top of the screen, based on their specific usage.
● Survey: Used for gathering client feedback.
● Live Sessions: Used in online learning courses for conducting live sessions.
● Assessment: Used for certifications like exams.
● Custom: Applicable for specific purposes.
● Recruitment: Odoo's recruitment survey helps assess candidates' skills and fit.
If the survey involves a live session, select the ‘Live Session’ option from the top of the form.
The configuration form includes tabs for Questions, Options, Descriptions, and End Messages.
Questions Tab: To add questions, click on the ‘Add a question’ button. This will generate a new pop-up window as shown below. You can add multiple questions with a range of formats, such as single-choice, multiple-choice, text boxes (single or multiple lines), Dates, Datetime fields, and Matrices.
● Multiple choice: only one answer: a multiple choice question that allows for only one response.
● Multiple choice: multiple answers allowed: this is a multiple choice question.
● Multiple Lines Text Box: Participants can submit a multiple-line response to an open-ended question in the Multiple Lines Text Box.
● Single Line Text Box: Participants can provide a single line of response in the Single Line Text Box, which is an open-ended inquiry.
● Numerical Value: an inquiry with a numerical component that requires a response from the participant.
● Scale: The 'Scale' question type in the Odoo Survey module is a new type that allows users to express their responses on a numeric or categorical scale, making it useful for feedback surveys and customer satisfaction assessments.
● Date: a date-based inquiry that requires participants to respond with a date (year, month, and day).
● DateTime is a date-based inquiry that requires respondents to provide a date and time (year, month, day, hour, minute, and second).
● Matrix: Participants are shown a matrix, which is a multiple-choice, multiple-question format in which each row has a distinct question and each column contains a different response option.
Once a question is created, you can select the "Save" button to continue adding questions. In this way, you can create multiple questions as per the requirements.
Options Tab: Inside the QUESTIONS section, Pagination can be set to display one question per page, one section per page, or all questions on a single page. You can configure the progress display (numeric or percentage), randomize questions, and add navigation options like a back button. Under the PARTICIPANTS area, you can set “Access Mode” to “Anyone with a link” and "Require Login” feature to make sure whether the users need to log in to the website or not in order to attend the survey.
Inside the TIME & SCORING area, establish a Survey Time Limit and choose a Scoring method (e.g., no score, score with answers displayed at the end). In the survey awards certification, this option can be helpful. The LIVE SESSION allows you to enter a Session Code, and Session URL Link, and enable reward options for rapid responses.
Description and End Message Tabs: In the Description tab, provide an introduction to the survey along with guidelines, which will appear before starting the survey.
The End Message tab allows for a customized message to be displayed upon survey completion.
Once the survey is set up, use the Save icon to add it to the module’s survey library.
