Another discount type is the Global Discount, which applies a uniform percentage discount across all products in the order. This is perfect for situations where a flat discount is applied to the entire order, such as bulk purchase discounts or special promotional offers.
To apply a global discount, users click on the Discount button and select the Global Discount option from the wizard. After entering the percentage of the discount, the discount is applied to the entire sales order, and Odoo automatically updates the total order amount.
The sales order can then be confirmed and processed as usual.
For businesses that prefer to apply a specific monetary value discount, the Fixed Amount Discount allows users to deduct a predetermined amount from the total value of the sales order. This type of discount provides clear and predictable savings, making it easy for both the customer and the business to understand and manage.
To apply a fixed amount discount, users click on the Discount button, select Fixed Amount as the discount type, and enter the amount to be deducted from the total sale order. Once the fixed amount is applied, the total value of the order is reduced accordingly, and the sales order can continue to be processed.
These discount features in Odoo 18 provide businesses with a variety of options to customize pricing strategies, whether through individual product discounts, global order-wide reductions, or fixed amount deductions.
