Corrective vs. Preventive Maintenance
The steps for generating new maintenance requests have now been covered, with the example of corrective maintenance provided. Corrective maintenance refers to addressing faults or breakdowns after they occur. However, preventive maintenance is another critical aspect, involving routine checks to avoid issues before they happen.
To schedule preventive maintenance, you follow the same process as for corrective requests. After selecting "New" from the Maintenance Request homepage, the configuration form appears. For preventive maintenance, you can choose this ‘Preventive’ option from the ‘Maintenance Type’ field and define its recurrence frequency. This lowers the likelihood of unplanned malfunctions by guaranteeing that equipment is serviced on a regular basis.
To duplicate a request, select the "Duplicate" option from the "Action" menu. This makes it easier to handle recurring activities by enabling you to rapidly create numerous copies of the same maintenance request.
The new request will show up on the Maintenance Request webpage when the data has been input and saved. This request can also be viewed and scheduled using the Maintenance Calendar option, which provides a visual overview of all upcoming tasks based on specific dates.
