Configuration Settings/h2>
The Configuration menu contains options for managing Expense Categories and adjusting general expense Settings.
Under Settings, you can configure Incoming Emails, Employee Expense Journal, Payment Methods, and Expense Outstanding Account.
One of the options that helps you register expenses from incoming emails is the ‘Incoming Emails’ option. Odoo enables the firm to pay employee expenses using particular payment methods, as indicated by "Payment Methods." The company can pay employee expenses using specific payment methods, with all options supported. The 'Expense Outstanding Account' field allows for company-paid expenditures, while the default 'Employee Expense Journal' is added for employee-paid expenses. These features simplify accounting journaling and payment choices.
All the other settings options are only available in the Enterprise edition of the Odoo 18 Expenses Module.
Expense Categories
Employee expenditure management is made easier with Odoo's expense categories, which classify employees into pre-established groups, automate accounting, enforce spending guidelines, and offer comprehensive insights for improved decision-making.
Users may select features, group by, and favorite the page's list of spending categories. Details such as name, internal reference, internal remarks, cost, sales price, vendor taxes, and re-invoice costs are included for each expenditure category.
You can create a new expense category using the New button, where you can add details such as the Product Name, Cost, Reference, Category, Purchase Taxes, Sales Taxes, Re-Invoice Costs, etc.
Internal remarks can also be included. After entering all information, users can proceed with saving. This expense category can be utilized for creating an expense report or requesting a new expense.
