Settings
The Settings within the Employee module in Odoo 18 provide a range of options to enhance the functionality and management of employee-related processes. These settings are designed to streamline operations and ensure a seamless user experience.
One key feature is the Presence Display option, located under the Employee tab. This feature monitors attendance and user status presence, offering advanced controls such as tracking attendance based on IP addresses and monitoring the number of emails sent. This ensures accurate tracking of employee activity and enables a more robust attendance management system.
The module also includes a Skill Management feature, allowing you to enrich employee profiles by adding resumes and skillsets directly. This provides a centralized repository of employee qualifications and competencies, which can be utilized for role assignments and performance evaluations.
Additionally, the Remote Work settings provide options to manage and display remote work arrangements for employees. These settings update presence icons to reflect remote work locations and generate dedicated reports, offering a clear overview of remote work statuses across the organization.
In Odoo 18, managing employee work schedules and personal information is made seamless through specific settings under the Work Organization and Employee Update Rights options. By enabling the Company Working Hours feature within the Work Organization settings, you can establish and regulate employees' working hours effectively, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and schedules.
Additionally, the Employee Editing option under Employee Update Rights allows employees to update their personal information directly. This feature empowers employees to manage their own profiles while reducing administrative overhead for HR teams, fostering a more efficient and self-sufficient workplace environment.
The Contract section allows for enhanced management of employee contracts by providing options to configure notice periods for contract and work permit expirations. By setting a Contract Expiration Notice Period, you can ensure timely reminders before an employee's contract is due to expire, enabling proactive planning for renewals or terminations. Similarly, the Work Permit Expiration Notice Period feature helps track the validity of work permits and sends alerts ahead of their expiration, ensuring compliance with legal requirements. These configurations streamline contract management and minimize the risk of administrative oversights.
