Challenges
The Challenges feature in Odoo 18’s Employee module serves as a powerful tool for enhancing employee morale and engagement. By introducing structured challenges tied to badges and rewards, organizations can inspire employees to achieve specific objectives while fostering a sense of accomplishment and healthy competition. Odoo 18 improves upon this feature with a user-friendly interface and advanced customization options for seamless management.
To create a challenge, navigate to the Challenges section in the Employee module, where you can view existing challenges in List or Kanban views. This overview provides a snapshot of ongoing and completed challenges, including participants, goals, and rewards. Clicking the New button opens a form view, allowing you to configure a new challenge.
Start by naming the challenge and selecting participants through the Assign Challenge option, which can include individuals or groups based on the challenge type. Challenges can be configured to run on a periodic basis, such as daily, weekly, monthly, or annually, or they can be manually monitored if no periodicity is selected. The display mode allows you to choose between a leaderboard format to encourage competition or an individual goal format for personal milestones. The challenge can also be assigned a responsible person to oversee its progress, and you can define start and end dates to establish a clear timeframe.
In the Goals tab, you can set specific objectives that participants must achieve. Each goal is defined by a detailed description, a measurable target, and additional contextual instructions. This clarity ensures that participants understand their tasks and have a structured path to success.
Rewards for the challenge are configured in the Rewards tab, where you can determine the prize distribution method, such as awarding the top performer or all participants who meet the set goals. Rewards can either be automatically triggered upon goal completion or manually awarded, offering flexibility to match the nature of the challenge.
Advanced Options provide additional functionality to enhance the challenge experience. The subscription feature allows you to invite others to participate by suggesting the challenge to new users, increasing engagement. Notifications can be configured through the Report Frequency option, which sends regular updates to participants in either individual or group formats. For manual goals, reminders can be set to notify participants when tasks remain incomplete for a specified period.
Once all configurations are complete, save the challenge and initiate it by selecting the Start Challenge option. Participants can then begin working toward their objectives, while administrators monitor their progress in real-time. The Challenges feature in Odoo 18 enables organizations to cultivate a rewarding and motivating work environment, driving both productivity and a culture of achievement.
