Discuss
The Discuss module in Odoo 18 Community Edition is a communication tool that centralizes messages, alerts, and project updates, enhancing team collaboration. It reduces the need to switch between apps by streamlining communication within the platform. Team members may remain linked to ongoing work thanks to the module's easy integration with other Odoo apps. It serves as a digital workspace, allowing teams to create organized channels, send direct messages, share files, and set notifications. Discuss is a dedicated solution for efficient internal communication in organizations, enabling employees to seek clarity on work-related issues directly within the platform.
Upon launching the Discuss module, users are greeted by the main mailbox screen. As seen in the picture below, the left side of this window shows the necessary choices, such as Inbox, Starred, and History.
Inbox: New messages appear here, where users can manage incoming communication.
Starred: Important messages can be marked with stars for quick access.
History: Enables users to keep track of previous exchanges and examine discussion logs.
The interface also includes a Mark All Read button at the top right to manage notifications effectively. Directly below, sections for CHANNELS and DIRECT MESSAGES appear, supporting both private messaging and group discussions in the Channels area.
