Creating a Meeting or Event
Creating a new meeting in the Calendar module is straightforward. Select a specific day for the event, and a pop-up window will appear, allowing you to add details about the meeting. You can specify Start and End dates, invite guests, set reminders, and even designate an Organizer for the meeting. If the meeting is recurring, you can enable the Recurrent option. The Location of the meeting, relevant Tags, and even a Meeting URL for video calls can also be added. Odoo 18 introduces a new feature that supports video calls directly within the Calendar module, enhancing virtual meetings.
The module includes privacy options, allowing meetings to be marked as public, private, or restricted to internal users. Users can also set their status as Available or Busy to let others know their availability during scheduled meetings.
After configuring a meeting, users can send invitations via EMAIL or SMS. The ListView option lets you view all previously scheduled meetings, providing information such as the meeting's Subject, Start and End dates, Attendees, Location, and Duration.
From the List view window, you can send invitation email and sms notifications using the Send Mail and Send SMS buttons. The ‘Actions’ menu can also be used to Delete, Duplicate, Export, Archive and Unarchive data.
When a user receives an invitation, they can either accept or decline it via email or directly within the Odoo Calendar. The organizer can monitor attendee responses and adjust the event accordingly (e.g., rescheduling if required).
