Calendar
The Calendar module in Odoo allows you to manage appointments, meetings, and other events directly within the platform. It provides integration with other apps like CRM, Sales, and Projects, making it easy to schedule meetings or follow up on tasks. Here’s an overview of how the Calendar app works in Odoo 18 Community, based on general functionality expected from Odoo.
Opening the module will launch its default calendar meetings window, as illustrated in the screenshot below.
Navigate to the Calendar app. You may see the Calendar by changing it to a Day, Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly basis. In the upper right corner, you can see the possibilities. This page displays the events that have already been scheduled for particular days and times. Selecting the Day calendar will allow you to see the chores arranged on the selected day. If you go for the Weekly option, you will be given the work assigned for that particular week.
In the Monthly option, you can also examine the works organized for the month selected for the relevant data. The yearly calendar provides the same kind of information on the events scheduled for the full year.
Odoo 18's Calendar module includes a 'Show Weekends' feature that allows users to toggle the display of weekends (Saturday and Sunday) in the calendar view. This adapts the view to different needs: concealing weekends simplifies scheduling that concentrates on weekdays, while including weekends aids weekend activities such as retail or events. By removing irrelevant days or including them only when necessary, it enhances user experience and improves visibility and efficiency for various workflows.
The filter options in the Calendar module allow users to customize the view just like in other Odoo modules. You can filter and view activities based on specific business tasks scheduled for certain days. This gives you detailed information about each event or activity. Users can edit tasks and events easily using the Edit button in the detail view.
On the right-hand side of the calendar page, you’ll find a monthly calendar along with sync options for Google and Outlook, allowing users to receive and view scheduled meetings directly in Odoo. Additionally, you can use the Add Attendees option to invite others to your meetings.
