Kiosk Mode

The Kiosk Mode enables employees to check in using badge scans or by manual entry. This method is particularly useful for organizations with shared devices or limited access to personal devices.

Clicking on the Kiosk Mode menu will open an Attendance Kiosk URL link window as shown below. If you have the Kiosk App, this can be opened directly from the app or open the Kiosk link to mark the attendance.

The Odoo Attendance Module's Progressive Web App (PWA) enhances usability with a browser-based, app-like experience, offering offline functionality, push notifications, accessibility, and cross-platform compatibility. To experience this feature and install the kiosk app, click on the ‘Install App’ button, this will open a window as shown below

Then, press the ‘Install’ button to proceed. This will install the module in your system as a standalone application. This will open the kiosk app interface.

Inside the Kiosk Mode interface there will be two Check In options such as Badge Scanning and Manual Entry as shown in the screenshot below.

● Badge Scanning: Employees can scan their badges at the kiosk to log attendance using the ‘Scan your badge’ option.

● Manual Entry: Employees can select the Identify Manually option to enter their profile PIN on the kiosk screen.

Through the use of badge scans or manual recognition, the Kiosk Mode menu assists staff members in adding and labeling employee attendance. The barcode in your employee ID card can be used in this situation if you want to "Scan your badge."This will trigger a window for a barcode reader to open. You can use the device camera to scan the barcode and check into the attendance system.

Marking attendance can also be done by selecting Manually. You will then be taken to a page where the dashboard of every employee profile can be accessed based on various job positions and categories. It is also possible to search the employee profiles.

You will be able to choose the employee's profile from the page and then check in to the attendance database.

This option can also be accomplished by utilizing the PIN code check-in method. But you must enable the Employee PIN Identification option in the settings window of the ‘Configuration’ menu to accomplish this as illustrated in the image below.

Then, activate the extra hours and compare them to the hours of work completed using the ‘Extra Hours’ tab settings option. To start counting additional hours, specify a time frame under ‘Tolerance Time in Favor of Company’ and ‘Tolerance Time in Favor of Employee’ fields. This will calculate the number of additional hours starting on that day, excluding time not beneficial to the business or employee.

As a last option, you can select the ‘Extra Hours Validation’ method along with the ‘Display Extra Hours’ choice to acquire further insights regarding the employees’ additional working hours.

After the feature is turned on, you can establish this personalized PIN code from the Employee form found in HR settings. This feature is contained in the creation of an employee ID and PIN code while creating a new employee profile in the Odoo Employee Module with detailed instructions. When a new employee is added to the employee module, there is an option to create a ‘Badge ID’ and add a ‘PIN Code’ in the ATTENDANCE/POINT OF SALE Section of the ‘Settings’ Tab as shown in the screenshot below.

While adding new employee data in the Odoo Employees Module, the HR or responsible users can provide a Pin Code and generate a Badge ID according to company regulations. After selecting the Generate icon, the badge ID will be available. You can also print the badge by selecting the “Print Badge” button.

Then, go back to the Attendance Module to check the feature of Kiosk Check-in using a Pin code. By scanning their badge on the kiosk tab, the employee can be identified. Select the ‘Identify Manually’ option to use the PIN facility.

Selecting the "Identify Manually" option will take you to a page with an employee list. You can select the necessary profile from the list.

This will open a new page where you may input your PIN. This will mark your attendance and check in time into your attendance database.

After check-in, you can check out from the Kiosk mode using the same procedure by providing the pin. This will track your attendance details in the Kiosk App as shown below.

According to these guidelines, check-in and check-out should be handled in the attendance module.
