Rescue Session
Odoo17 PoS may be controlled online and offline. Have you ever considered what will
happen to the active orders if your internet connection is lost? When the connection is
reestablished, Odoo will synchronize the data to guarantee an uninterrupted Point of
Sale experience. Odoo 17 will save the day even if you mistakenly close the session
while working online. To prevent data recording, the Odoo Point of Sale provides a
rescue session alternative to the unintentionally closed session with the aid of the
rescue session. We shall go into detail about the rescue session in Odoo here.
The In Progress and Closed sessions are shown when you see the session history from the
Orders menu.
One session is going on right now. The session's data will be saved in the browser's
cache memory if the internet connection is lost.
The number of orders placed while the system was down is highlighted in the image above.
If the session is closed, the backend will show the session's state as Closed & Posted.
You can select the synchronization icon after the system resumes the internet
connection. Odoo will do this and produce
a PoS rescue session in place of the previously closed session.
The session history is accessible from the backend. The rescue session is depicted in the
snapshot as a brand-new session with a new session ID.
