Cash Roundings
The lowest denomination of the money used to make cash payments is known as cash
rounding. The cost of a bill can be rounded off in Odoo17 to the closest currency
denomination by using this functionality. You must activate the Cash Rounding
option from the Customer Invoices tab as shown below in order to use this feature. The
Accounting module's Settings menu contains this option.
After enabling this function, select the Cash Roundings option under the
Configuration menu of the module.
Details about the Name, Rounding Precision, and Rounding Method are displayed in the
list view. You can click the New button to start a new cash rounding procedure.
Mention the new cash rounding method's name in the Name field of the form view.
The Rounding Precision field allows for the specification of the smallest
denomination with a non-zero value. In the Rounding Strategy section, indicate
how the invoice amount will be rounded to the desired rounding accuracy. Either Add a
Rounding Line or Modify Tax Amount are options.
You must enter the Profit and Loss Accounts in the appropriate fields when adding
a rounding line. Three alternatives will be presented to you for the Rounding
method. If you select the Up approach, the value will be rounded up to the
nearest positive integer using the specified rounding precision. According to the
rounding precision, the value in the Down method will be rounded off towards the
negative infinity. The Half-Up approach is the third alternative.
This technique works with fractional values. When the fractional portion is larger than
or equal to 0.5, the value is rounded to the positive side; conversely, if the
fractional part is less than 0.5, the value is rounded to the negative side.
