Product Management

Odoo's Website app lets you create, import, and manage your product pages. The Product option is available under the Ecommerce menu of the website module as shown below.

To add items to the catalog the user can use different options such as Click + New Product from anywhere on your website. Enter your product's name and Save or create the product as shown in the image above ie from the website module under the Ecommerce menu or by importing data using XLSX or CSV files to do so go to Website module -> eCommerce menu -> Products and select Favourites and then Import records.

The Product window will control all of the Product Pages described in the platform. Each product page's details may be found here, including the Product Name, Website URL, Categories, Sales Price, Quantity On Hand, Unit of Measure, SEO Optimised, and Is Published. The page also allows you to filter your list using several preset and custom filters. Services, Products, Manufactured Products, BoM Components, Published, Available in POS, Can be Sold, Can be Purchased, Can be Recurring, Can be Rented, Can be Expensed, Favourites, Warnings, and Archived are the default filters contained in the list. It is also possible to create new custom filters by utilizing the Add Custom Filter option, which can be found at the bottom of the filter option.

Within the Product form under the Sales tab we have a section for eCommerce Shop which include a certain option such as an option to select Website, Categories, Out-of-Stock, Show Available Qty, and Out-of-Stock Message also includes Upsell & Cross-Sell option which includes Optional Products, Accessory Products, and Alternative Products.

Optional products are closely related to the item entered into the cart (for example, warranty, armrest, LED base lighting, are extra components for Conference Chair). When the main product is added to the cart, a new screen appears as an extra step.

Alternative products fall under the same category but have different characteristics, including color, material, dimension, and a number of others. These might also be distinct goods connected to the main item. For basic items, proposing more expensive alternatives is definitely encouraged in order to maximize your revenue. Your buyer will spend more time persuing your catalog this way.

Accessory Products are items that appear when buyers evaluate their shopping basket before paying. When someone buys a computer, for example, you could recommend a mouse or a keyboard.

Let's set the optional product, accessory product, an alternative product to the product Customizable desk and check how these products are showcased on the website while adding this product to the cart.

Now let's go to the website and select this product so within the product page, below you can see the alternative product assigned to the product as shown below.

And when we add this product to the cart, as soon as you add this product to the cart a window appears that lists out the optional products assigned to the main product as shown below, which allows the customer to make a choice among them.

And when you proceed to checkout you can see the accessory product as a suggestion for the main product as shown below.

Products are created with the status Unpublished in your eCommerce catalog by default. To make a product accessible to visitors, navigate to Website Site Homepage, click on your main store page, choose the product, and check the Published checkbox in the top-right corner.
