Gift cards & eWallet

Odoo 16 introduces a new menu for the management of Gift Cards and eWallets. The eWallet functionality is included in the e-commerce module. The platform displays a list of Gift Cards and eWallets with details such as the Programme Name, Programme Type, Name, Website, PoS Configuration, and Company, as shown in the image below.

In this section, you can provide the Programme Name. You can specify the sort of programme you want to establish in the Programme sort area. It could be a Gift Card or an eWallet. Let's start with the generation of gift cards. When a consumer orders a gift card product, gift cards are made manually or automatically and sent through email. Orders can be paid for using the Gift Cards. After selecting Gift Card as the Programme Type, you can trigger product ids in the Gift Card Products box. You can enter an email template for this gift card in the Email Template field, which will be used to send to the customer if they qualify for it. The Print Report option will be utilised to print the created gift cards from PoS. In the corresponding field, you can specify the currency used for this gift card's transactions. After naming the Company, you can activate the relevant fields to make this gift card available at the Point of Sale, Sales, and Website.

After you've created the new gift cards, click the Generate Gift Cards button, which is marked in the screenshot above. A pop-up box will appear where you can provide any further information needed to generate the gift card.

Gift cards can be generated for both Anonymous and Selected Customers dependent on the option you select in the ‘For’ field. If you wish to generate gift cards for Selected Customers, Odoo will provide additional fields where you can specify the Customers and Customer Tags. The Quantity to Generate area allows you to choose the total number of gift cards you want to generate. Please also include the points awarded to customers in the Gift Card Value area.

The Valid Until column will specify how long these newly generated gift cards will be valid. Finally, by clicking the Generate Gift Card button, the needed number of gift cards will be generated. You can see them by pressing the smart button on the top side.

The Odoo Website e-Wallet module enables you to provide clients control over their e-Wallets so they may make payments without difficulty. Customers' wallets can be credited with money so they can make purchases using the funds within. Odoo Website Wallet is secure for payments and allows your clients to make payments fast when money is already in the wallet. It improves their shopping experience because one of the primary reasons shoppers quit their shopping carts is cumbersome checkout procedures.

Suppose we have created a new eWallet for which we have generated eWallet code with balance and expiry date as shown below.

Lets go to a website and add a product to the cart, when we add product to the cart at the checkout the user can see an option to Pay with eWallet as shown below.

And when you click on the option the points will be added to the cart along with the product that we have already added as shown below.

So in this way the user can use the eWallet and Gift card for a better shopping experience for the customer.
