Forum Posts

Odoo's forum functionality will serve as a conversation platform for users to get answers to their questions. People with similar ideas can congregate to have a discussion on your website by posting a discussion topic or a forum to ask questions. On the Odoo Website module, you can quickly generate forum posts and it can be accessed under the Site menu of the website module as shown below.

And when we open this option a Forum post page will be displayed as shown below which includes details associated with the forum created such as Title, Website URL, Forum, Status, and much more.

From this option, the user only gets the option to view the Forum Posts and related details but if the user needs to create the new Forum then he can do it from the configuration menu of the website module where we have access to the option named as form as shown below.

In the Forum the user can create a Forum Name, has the option to select the mode either question or discussion, and can select the website in which they need to publish the forum. In the Forum form view, we also have the Page such as Option, Karma Gains, and Karma Related Rights.

In the options tab, you can configure the Default Sort, Privacy, and eLearning parameters. You can specify a default sorting choice in the Default Sort field. It could be the Newest, Most Voted, Relevance, or Answered. The forum's privacy can be configured in the Privacy area. If you want to make the forum public, select the Public option. By selecting the 'Signed In' option, only signed-in users will be able to access the forum.

The Karma Gains tab allows you to assign different karma points to participants. The following activities will allow players to earn the mentioned points.

The karma points earned will assist individuals in gaining specific rights. The right can be set under the Karma Related Rights tab. This tab contains a list of the rights that a user can obtain by earning the given number of karma points.

Within the Forum the user can also set the Rank in the Odoo Website module's Configuration menu can be used to set different ranks for forum participants.

In this platform, you will be able to view the specifics of all configured rankings, as shown below. You can advance through the ranks based on your karma points.

In the given fields, enter the Rank Name and Required Karma to achieve the stated rank. You can also write a description for the rank in the platform's extra field.

Within the Forum the user can also create Tags.

It would allow website users to easily categorize forum posts based on their requirements. It can be enabled from the configuration of the website module as shown below.

The next option that comes under Forum is Badges which can be enabled from the configuration of the website module.

Odoo includes a specialized platform for creating and managing badges for visitors to your website's forum postings. You can establish specific settings to allow visitors to win badges by participating in various activities listed on your forum. These badges are given as incentives for completing the challenges on your website.

You can mention the Badge and include an image of it in the fields provided. The Badge Description field will appear for you to describe the new badge. The Granting, Rewards for Challenges, and Statistics fields can be found in the window shown below to add extra information and create badge rules.

You can define who can grant this badge from the offered options in the Allowance to Grant section. Fill up the blanks with Monthly Limited Sending and My Monthly Sending Total.

You can enter the prizes for the tasks in the Reward for tasks section by clicking the 'Add' button. When you click the 'Add' button, you will see the pop-up window shown below.

In the badge creation box, the Statistics field can be used to provide the Total, Monthly Total, Number of Users, My Total, and My Monthly Total.

After filling out the required fields, click the 'Save' button to save the new badge. You may award this badge to participants by selecting the Grant this Badge option in the dialogue.

The next option under Forum is the Close Reason which can be enabled from the configuration of the website module as shown below.

This option can be used to close forum posts from your website.
