SMS Marketing

SMS plays a crucial role in the marketing platform. It includes marketing a particular event, selling a product, its services, or any other such business operations. This is a cost-free method for enhancing the strategy of marketing. It provides help to increase business to a large mass. This method has got a higher open-rate percent than the marketing Email, as mobile phone users are increasing day by day. This helps the improvement in interaction with the customers.

Odoo is here with this unique feature of SMS Marketing that helps to send messages in a very flexible way to the customers. In order to send an SMS, you can have a separate list of contacts about the flash sale or offers for a particular period of time. Here, in this Module, you can manage SMS to a particular date, and Odoo 16 will send SMS to the particular customer on that specific date on its own. If we intend to remove any of the SMS lists, you can include them in the Blacklist available in this module.

Let us look at the SMS Marketing Module and its features in detail. On selecting the SMS Module from Odoo, the main page will be displayed, as shown below.

The page can be displayed in Kanban, List, Calendar, and Graphical views in the top right corner, as shown below.

In the image above, the main window is in Kanban view. On this page, you can see options, such as Draft, In Queue, Sending, and Sent. The Settings option near each of these fields gives the sub-options, such as Fold to Kanban, Archive, and Unarchive the SMS. In the SMS preview, you will get the marketing SMS name, the total percent of clicks, the date on which it was created, and the total number of delivered. With the help of the Filters and Group By options, you can categorize and sort them as per your need. For making a new SMS Marketing, you can go for the Create button on which a new window will open, as shown below.

On this page, you have a space for giving a name for the SMS. Using the Recipient option for including a recipient list. An appropriate Mailing list can be formed for the purpose of sending SMS under the Mailing Lists menu. In the SMS Content tab, the content of the SMS can be mentioned, which can be 160 characters in a single SMS, and if the character count is above that, then Odoo will make it as two SMS. The next tab is A/B Tests, which is used to send various emails to simultaneously selected customers to assess their effectiveness in removing unreal communications. This option is for making sure of the results. On triggering this option, you will get a space to mention percent of recipients who can receive the SMS. In the Winner Selection option, you can give it as Manual, Highest Click Rate, Lead, Quotations, or Revenues.

Here you can also create other versions in which the best version will be given to the recipients. In the Settings Tab, you have the option to decide the employee in the responsible option. There is an option to include an opt-out link to trigger as well. Below the Advanced field, provide the name of the SMS, then trigger the Keep Archives option. In the Tracking field, you have space to give UTM Medium and link source. Finally, go for the Save icon.

Using the icon marked in the above image, you can add contacts for mailing purposes as well.

On the page, you have some options, such as Send, schedule, and Test. On selecting the Send option, you will get a pop-up window for the assuring of sending the SMS, as shown below.
