How to create new Direct Messages

Now, let's look at how to generate new Direct Messages in the Discuss Module. For that, go for the + icon provided in the window where on selecting it, you will get an option to start a new conversation, as shown below.

Using this option, you are able to get and send messages to the other employees in the group. The link preview will be getting for a newly posted message. You can even start a video call or make a normal call using this direct message option. Here video calls are now in a more improved version with a dedicated side panel for the purpose of settings. The background will be blurred during the video calls. You can even download images when attaching any images in the messages. And you are provided with a variety of emojis as well, according to a particular function.

On activating the desktop notifications, you will get notifications regarding your group messages. The chat icon provided in the main menu can be used to see the new notification messages from this module. Using the icon shown in the image below, you can control all chats in Odoo.

With this feature, you don’t need to go for the Discuss Module all the time. From anywhere, you can open this notification using this icon and then reply to the newly received messages.
