How to create New channels in Discuss Module

With the help of Discuss Module, you can make your own channels. For that, on the left side, you have the option to create a channel, as shown in the image below.

All the already configured channels will be visible in the settings button as in the image. You can even have the chance to join those channels with this settings icon.

Here as you can see, you have an option in each channel to get joined to that particular channel by clicking on theJOIN button and can also leave the group using theLEAVE button provided within. These buttons are made less noticeable. With the help of theFilters andGroup By options, you can filter the group list and filter them as per your need. New groups can be added to the Favourites using theFavourites option as well. You can make a new channel with the help of theCREATE button provided in the window. On clicking the CREATE button, you will be directed to a page where you have to give some details, as shown in the image below.

Here, you are able to provide the name of your channel in the Group Name field. The details about the group can be given in theDescription field. Under the Privacy tab, you have to give information like who to be the Authorized Group, Authorized Subscribe Groups, and Auto Subscribe Departments, respectively. On adding the groups in the Auto Subscribe Groups, group members will be added as followers of the newly created group. Guests will be added to the member’s list. In the Members Tab, you can include new members to the group by selecting the Add a Line option, as shown below.

Here you can include the name of the Recipient and their Email in the fields, respectively. And at last, you can go for the Save button. A new channel can be figured out using the + icon in the main window too.

On making the channel, you can change it to public or private as well.
